PRE-ENROLLMENT — FIRST YEAR CANDIDATES

  • REGISTER ONLINE  via the ABC web site and make the $500 down payment.
    (No openings guaranteed after 3/1 or above cap. Absolute cutoff is May 15 and candidate must have the University admission documents in place.)

  • Order the ABC Study Materials Set ($80 which includes links and YouTube recordings of all literature examples, our Embou-Sure Book & CD, sample exams, various charts) Optional.
Anytime before June
• Complete the following list for admission to the University:
  1. Application for Admission - online via "Apply" website (with $45 non-refundable fee)
  2. Three letters of recommendation. (Send to the University Office of Admissions.)
  3. ALL official transcripts (undergraduate as well as all graduate courses taken). Send to the University Office of Admissions
  4. Take ABC Theory Exam on June 19 in Ashland (replaces GRE).
  5. Check your email address as the University uses this student email address for all correspondence.

  2. Once the Office of Admissions approves your file it is sent to the School of Music.
  3. Contact Admission staff (School of Music Graduate Coordinator)

  • You must have passed the Music Theory entrance exam and be in good standing at the University to start the second summer of coursework. If you have more than two C grades, an F or a GPA below 3.0, you must apply for reinstatement.
