Scott McKee



A Western International Band Clinic staff member since 1990, Scott assumed the full-time position of Managing Director of the American Band College and Organizing Chairperson for WIBC in 2002. In 2015, he was appointed as the CEO of ABC, Bandworld Magazine, and WIBC.
 
Scott holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Southern Oregon University and a Master’s Degree from the American Band College (1998). He taught for many years in the public schools of Oregon (Scappoose and Springfield), was the conductor (and founder) of the Willamette Valley Honor Band in the Eugene area from 2007-2020, and is still active in the area as the conductor of the Eugene Symphonic Band.
 
In his current position, Scott is the Chief Executive Officer of the Western International Band Clinic and the American Band College. He also works closely with Central Washington University regarding coursework for the ABC program, which has graduated over 1,300 music educators from 49 states and 18 foreign countries.
 
In 2004, he was elected as an Associate Member of the American Bandmasters Association, where he now serves as chairperson of the ABA Associate Committee. In addition to band adjudication, Scott is busy guest conducting honor groups in the Northwest and Brisbane, Australia at the Griffith Conservatorium of Music. His contributions to music education were recognized in 2023 when he received the Oregon Music Educators Association Exemplary Service to the Profession award.
