What are the requirements for the Pre-ABC course MUS 681 Recital? All new candidates to the ABC program of Sam Houston State University are required to complete the following with guaranteed delivery to: ABC, 407 Terrace Street, Ashland, OR 97520. DEADLINE: Materials must ARRIVE by midnight, June 10! (If the required materials are late or do not arrive, the candidate will not be admitted to the ABC program, will not be able to receive higher than a C in the class and will be required to pay a $125 late fee. (NOTE: A candidate who receives more than one C in the Graduate School at SHSU is placed on immediate probation. A third C (or lower) or a subsequent GPA below 3.0 results in termination from the Graduate School and the ABC program.) The candidate is required to submit a DVD of live performances by the candidate's band according to the guidelines on page 16 in the ABC Catalog. In addition, the candidate must upload the required mp3 (audio file) to MY ACCOUNT at http://www.bandworld.org as well as a current personal photo and a baby photo. Faculty evaluations between June 11 and the start of ABC will determine a course grade as well as define a conducting level for second year projects. It will also serve to determine special work the candidate must do to improve conducting style and rehearsal technique. Meetings with the faculty member will be arranged as needed beginning June 29 at the ABC facility at Ashland High School.
