Where/when do I send my practical applications and research projects?

Both MUST be shipped to the following address:

American Band College
407 Terrace St.
Ashland, OR 97520

All candidates (1st, 2nd, 3rd year) must send Research Projects to arrive by midnight on July 28:
  1st year: MUSI 5330 Analytical Techniques (RE#1)
2nd year: MUSI 5388 Sem. in Literature (RE#2)
3rd year: MUSI 6398 Research Techniques (RE#3) [Accompanied by the PA#3. See below]

All 1st and 2nd year candidates must send Practical Application Projects to arrive by midnight on August 8:
  1st year:  MUEN 5112 Ensemble (PA#1)
  2nd year: MUSI 5398 Advanced Studies (PA#2)

All 3rd year candidates must send their Practical Application Projects to arrive by midnight on July 28:
Both projects for 3rd year candidates should be shipped together.
If either project arrives late, graduation for that summer will not be possible.
If either project fails, graduation for that summer will not be possible.

If 1st or 2nd year candidates complete the work on both RE and PA projects in time to have them devlievered to 407 Terrace by July 28, it is acceptable to ship them together. Please note that none of PA#1 or PA#2 projects will be graded early by the ABC faculty.

Grades for all projects except the PA#1 and the PA#2 will be posted through the Sam Houston State University web site on or before SHSU's deadline on August 8. The remainder of the projects will be graded between August 8 and 17 and posted on August 18 at SHSU. These late-posted grades must go through a special process and will likely not appear on transcripts before August 25. All other grades will appear within a day or two of the August 8 deadline.

MAILING: Because your projects will not be evaluated if they arrive late, you must use great care in the mailing method. DO NOT use U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail under any circumstances!! There is no guarantee for delivery and you cannot track this mail. These pieces of mail travel at the same speed as First Class mail. We have seen many instances where these packages will be up to 16 days in transit!

Use UPS or FedEx with exact guarantees for delivery. DO NOT require a signature when it arrives as it will not be delivered unless someone is available on this end to sign. WAIVE the signature requirement. Use the tracking number to determine when your projects are delivered. Do not contact the ABC office by phone, fax, or email regarding arrival; we have over 400 projects arriving in a 10-day period.

PLEASE DO NOT SEAL THE PROJECT ENVELOPES!! These must go to storage in pristine condiction. Ship them in surrounding envelope or mailing box.

Be ABSOLUTELY certain that you do not include Sam Houston State University or Dept. of Music in the mailing address!!!!!

PROJECT SUBMISSION AT ABC: If you are a second, third or fourth year ABC student, and you have your projects completed, you can turn them in to Cathi Leibinger on a date specified during ABC of that summer. You will receive more information once you get to Ashland.
