How much does it cost to attend WIBC U as a college student?
$125

Can I get a reduction in my cost if my college band director attends?
Yes, you and your college band director will save $40 if you both attend WIBC U. Your band director should contact WIBC Organizing Director, Scott McKee at WIBC, for sponsorship opportunities. Email: Scott McKee

Do I have to audition to participate in WIBC U Intercollegiate Honor Band?
Yes, WIBC U is an auditioned college group. You can view the audition material here. When you create your WIBC U account, you will upload your audition files. We will notify your audition results, via email, about a week after auditions.

All WIBC U students will play in the same Intercollegiate Honor Band at WIBC under the direction of WIBC U Board Members.

What is the deadline to audition for WIBC U?
October 18th

Can I attend WIBC U if I am a high school student?
No, WIBC U is only for students that have graduated high school. If you are in high school, you should visit the WIBC H.S. honor band web page.

As a college director, what benefits do I receive by attending the WIBC U convention?
Not only can you attend all honor band rehearsals, director clinics, sightreading sessions and evening concerts, but you will have an opportunity to talk to all of the 600+ high school honor band students attending WIBC during "College Night". More info....

Can I get lodging through WIBC U at the DoubleTree Hotel?
Yes. If you are accepted to attend, proceed to WIBC U Registration and select the lodging option before you checkout.

How much does it cost to stay at the DoubleTree Hotel?
$160 total for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. (Subject to change until June 1.)

Can I select my roommates at the DoubleTree Hotel?
Yes. Use the roommate "selector" to create a room group. Have your friends join you in your group.

How many college students are lodged in the hotel room?
There are four students per room at the DoubleTree Hotel.

I need to cancel my WIBC U participation. How much money do I get back?
$25 cancellation fee on registration payment through October 30
$50 cancellation fee on registration payment beginning October 31
No refund on room cancellations beginning November 6
No refund of any kind beginning November 13

Is there a hotel parking fee during the convention?
Yes, the hotel charges daily parking fees even for those staying at the hotel. The DoubleTree Hotel will reduce the parking fee during our convention. The cost is $12 per day and $12 (overnight).

Will the WIBC U Intercollegiate Honor Band music be available to me before the convention?
Yes, WIBC U honor band music will be posted to your Bandworld account once you have registered and paid.

What will the WIBC U Intercollegiate Honor Band perform in 2024?
The 2024 music has not been selected at this time.
