His career includes extensive work as a staff arranger for ABC radio, with United States Air Force Band and the Count Basie Orchestra. He collaborated on over 60 albums with Capitol Records and his television and movie credits number in the hundreds.

Audio/Video Problems?

There are 2 programs in NOVOS-11: (1) VIDEO PROGRAM and the(2) AUDIO MUSIC PROGRAM.

The idea for this series is based on Ira Novoselsky's ongoing activity creating interesting, complete programs for traditional radio. When Bandworld Magazine went exclusively online in 2004, it became obvious that the Internet provides a way to get to a much broader audience. NOVOS was chosen in honor of Ira, who has contributed in many ways to the development of Bandworld Magazine and the American Band College Center for Research.

"I was born the son of an immigrant who taught me loyalty, honesty, moderation and the value of the work ethic.

"If you are truly honest with yourself, you realize the importance of humility. So, when looking for musical paragons, I listen to Bethoven, Mozart, Gershwin and all my heroes. It puts everything into the proper perspective."

Sammy Nestico in his book, The Complete Arranger.
